On Kindness

Today a customer told me something that made me pause. It reminded me that kindness is a choice we make every single moment.

She was an elderly lady, eating alone. When I brought her tea, she looked up and smiled with such genuine warmth that it stopped me in my tracks. 'Thank you for seeing me,' she said.

Not 'thank you for the tea'. Thank you for seeing me.
